So with my illness and the resulting weakness my fabulous in-laws knew that driving to Disneyland (which I am supposed to do in 10 days) would be too much. As they love their grandkids and son and wanted all of us to arrive in a living condition without Mommy having gone postal, they generously purchased an airline ticket for me to fly to CA. I'm super excited.
Aunt Michelle changed her flight so she can drive with John and the "children" while I enjoy my express flight with just Aiden James. John is thrilled with this, since he loves road tripping and had expressed serious reservations about road tripping with postal mommy. (For those of you who don't know, I hate long trips in the car and I especially hate long trips in the car with a newborn and 4 children who can't all seem to pee at the same time even if it meant saving their lives.)
So with all that said, I was talking with my mom this morning and she expressed some concerns with my illness and getting on a pressurized flight. She said and I quote, "aren't you concerned that your lungs are going to explode if you get on a pressurized airplane." You know honestly up until that point I hadn't had any concerns with exploding lungs. I do now.
I'm off to call the Dr. I'll update my post when I hear back.
The Dr. called and I'm not going to explode. I may however, "experience some slight discomfort and decreased lung capacity." Which sounds like code for it's going to hurt like hell.
Road trip or flight........ Hmmm. They both sound excruciating however the flight will only last an hour and a half vs. 14 hours in the car. Man it's a tough choice but I think I'm gonna have to go with the flight.
Here's hoping.
Go mom, nothing like planning for the worst :) I'm excited for you, I hope that the flight goes smoothly and that you are up for chasing after 4 ecstatic kids going in all different directions. Make some good memories, and live to tell about them!
